Description:
In teaching the courses I have in the past, I always thought of most of these technological implications. I've had a lot of good teachers as far as copyright is concerned. Having a Masters in Communication and a B.A. in Political Science has made me alert to all the laws concerning. I am always thoughtful in everything I do and make sure it abides with all lawful parameters. I've had students use copyrighted things in their videos before and told them that they are not allowed to post any of their videos on Youtube. If they decide to they will have to take the material out or risk getting in trouble for it. I also make them sign a contract which explains they understand all the stipulations in my syllabus and agree to them. All the copyright laws are included.
Impact:
This module has been useful in refreshing a lot of these standards I've used in the past. Going for my Ph.D. has taken me out of the loop a little bit. I don't teach right now or am involved in Media Production very much so it's good I am reminded of a lot of these technological implications every now and then.
Intent:
I'd like to continue to be knowledgable and conscience of my use of technology and how it impacts not only myself but others. I want to continue to make good decisions in any media production I may create and teaching/advising I may do.
